More Than a Brand.

A community built for the riders who do it for the love of it.

Whether you're chasing ribbons, riding once a week after work, or simply happiest with dirt on your boots, Amateur Equestrian Society was created with you in mind.

I've been riding since I was 7, and for my entire childhood, I wanted to ride professionally and run my own barn when I grew up (don't we all?).

I was a working student and went to college for equine studies. Very quickly, I saw myself going down a path of getting burnt out. And I didn't want that for myself. I didn't want to not have fun with horses anymore when they had already contributed so much to my life.

I pivoted and while trying to figure out what I wanted to do professionally, I kept my semi-retired, ex-Junior Hunter mare with me throughout college by boarding at a local self-care barn. After college, I moved around a little, and she always came with me. No matter what changes life threw at me, Lucy was a constant.

At the end of 2023, I had to make the decision to put Lucy down after a broken radial bone.

For a while, I was lost. I hadn't been riding very often anymore, but I was at the barn almost every day. I would leave the office and go straight to the barn. Some days I would go before work. I had owned Lucy for 14 years- more than half my lifetime. To suddenly not have that constant was something I really struggled with. To be honest, I still struggle with it.

A year later, I decided it was time to get back to horses. I started taking lessons at a local barn. I got back into it slowly at first, but all of a sudden it was January 2026 and I found myself buying a 5 year old OTTB mare.

Throughout my re-entrance to the horse world as an adult ammy, one thing that really frustrated me was the lack of high-quality but affordable clothing. Emphasis on affordable. I don't have much interest in showing at the level I did back when I was a teenager, but I still want to look and feel good when riding and spending time at the barn. There are a lot of really amazing small businesses out there creating apparel for riders, but at premium prices. I'd much rather spend money on a monthly chiropractor appointment for my horse than spend $100+ on a new shirt.

This is where the idea for Amateur Equestrian Society began.

Amateur riders dedicate countless early mornings, late nights, and weekends to a sport they love - not because it's their career, but because they choose it every single day. We balance horses with full-time jobs, school, families, and everything else life throws our way.

Being an amateur isn't something to outgrow.

It's something to be proud of.

That's why I created Amateur Equestrian Society.

Not as another equestrian clothing company, but as a brand that celebrates the riders who make this sport possible.

We believe being an amateur rider isn't a stepping stone - it's an identity worth celebrating.

We believe this sport is better when we support one another, celebrate each other's wins, and remember why we started riding in the first place.

We believe everyone deserves to feel like they belong at the barn.

We believe stepping away from the horse world doesn't make you any less of an equestrian - and coming back should feel like coming home.

We believe horses have a way of finding us exactly when we need them.

We believe great equestrian apparel shouldn't come with a luxury price tag.

We believe the best part of this sport has never been the ribbons. It's the horses, the people, and the memories we make along the way.
